The client

Employing a nanny is a burdensome and challenging task for already busy parents whilst much of the older population are looking for part time work and a connection with young people.

This situation is what prompted GrandNanny to co-create a local childcare model that supports midlife and older neighbours into rewarding childcare jobs with local families. They have built a community of over 4,000 people driven by this intergenerational approach.

The challenge

GrandNanny were looking for help to improve their online offering to tackle accessibility issues across the site, refresh their brand and improve the ease of use of the marketing site.

A new web presence to better reflect the brand

We reviewed and streamlined the art direction and photography used throughout the site to ensure the brand is reflected via diverse, positive and tonally consistent photography.

An accessible and comprehensive design system

In order to scale the visual language of the site, we created a comprehensive design system. Our first priority was to improve colour contrast across the site, ensuring that all text was at least AA compliant and for the most part, AAA compliant in accordance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). This extended to coloured panels used throughout as well as background and button combinations.

The results

The work clearly moves us on a big step in the direction of communicating our proposition more clearly through design, navigation and content.
